Vince Flynn

So this is basically a book report. My uncle has got me hooked on a new author and so far I have read four of his 13 books, and they are all worth the read. Vince Flynn takes a lot of his inspiration writing about the CIA and other intelligence organization within the United States from authors like Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum. He writes gripping and fast faced intelligence and political thrillers. Really fun to read as they are well written.

The first book to start with is Term Limits. This was a very good book. It is about a group of people highly skilled in the art of taking people out, that eliminate a few dirty politicians with hopes of forcing the party politics and back door dealings within Washington to stop. The book follows the assassinations as the authorities and the intelligence community try to track down the killers. While they do that they find a whole lot more going on within the government that make these assassins seem like small potatoes. Basically read the description on the back of the book and you'll be hooked, I was. It is an amazing book and ally gets into the corruptin that is within our own government. I really enjoyed it because I believe there are way too many politicians who do not care about America as much as they care about holding onto their seat of power. Whether they have been a politician too long or that was their main goal the whole time, money and power mak people corrupt. This goes delves into that in a fictional sense, but it does go onion out country. Rad it and love it.

The next book to read is Transfer of Power. Wow, what can I say.fun and exciting.a group of terrorists invade and lead an assault on the White House. We are introduced to Vince Flynns main character, Mitch Rapp. We follow Mitch as he works for the CIA and watch as he works to regain control of the White House with the help of the Special Forces community, Delta Force, SEAL Team 6 and the HRT. This book could not be more fun as you go throughout the White House taking out terrorists and saving hostages. Again, very well written and very entertaining.

I will edit this post as I read more books. I am currently on the next book, The Thrid Option. Thanks to my uncle for getting me into these books and hopefully some of you guys can find his books wherever you are. Enjoy!

Jobs leaving America, Buy American!!!

So my friend made a post on Facebook about the General Electric X-Ray Division being moved to China. I couldn't believe it when I read it so I looked into it. It is true. After 115 years of being headquartered in Wisconsin, they will be moving to Beijing, China. There in China they will hire an train 65 new technicians and infuse 2 billion dollars into their economy. According to Jefferey Immelt (GE CEO), through Business Insider.com (http://articles.businessinsider.com/2011-07-25/markets/30028879_1_ge-healthcare-jeffrey-immelt-job-losses) none of the 120 employees in Wisconsin will lose their jobs. Good, if that's true. I just don't think that will happen. On top of creating jobs in China, and not the US, GE reportedly did not pay any taxes during 2010. So they get a freebie years and than pick up a major division of their company and move it to China??

On top of all this, Jefferey Immelt was appointed as President Obama's "job czar". His job is to create jobs in America. Good job Jeff. I think the fact that he is moving his own business out of the country is not a good sign. He should know better than most the chances of creating jobs in this country, as that's what he was charged to do by the President of the United States. It just doesn't look good when that man is moving his business elsewhere. It doesn't give me any more confidence in The presidents ability to choose good leaders for our country. It doesn't give me any confidence in him as a leader for our country either.

We need to make it illegal for businesses to leave the country to do business. As a consumer, I try as much as I can to purchase products that were made in the United States. I felt bad when I purchased my IPad 2, thinking it was made here in the States, only to read on the back, designed in California, assembled in China. Please, why can we not have a factory here in America that assembles an iPad? What are there not enough people who want to do it? With an unemployment rate of almost 10%, I'm sure there are plenty of people available. Now about the costs. I'm sure it would cost more to one made in America, but that's what makes America great. The more we produce in America, the more will be infused into the economy. Now, I'm no economist and don't know the ins and outs of how the economy works, but I do know, after spending the price I did one this iPad, I would gladly spend an extra $100 to have purchased a product made in America. It is important, with all the products made in China and abroad, that we seek out those products made locally and in America. As. Have gotten into firearms, I have run into many patriotic companies that make all of their equipment right here in good ole' America. Raven Concealment is a great company that makes kydex holsters, with all of there equipment bought and made right here in America. Another is Ares Gear. They make amazing belts for tactical application. Recently they sent out a message saying they have found a supplier for their scuba webbing that is locally Stateside. Good for them. Even though it costs slightly more, they make the effort to help out an American economy. Not some foreign country. And last but certainly not least is a company by the name of Surefire. They make amazing flashlight products, both handheld and weapons lights. All made in the US of A. The more we buy from these quality companies, the more we tell the rest of the companies that try to save a penny, or more by outsourcing that we will not buy their products. Hopefully that will give them the message that we want them to stay in America and help our economy grow by creating jobs here.

I know a lot has to be done to policies and politics in America to help companies be able to afford business, such as taxes and other like policies (once again I am not completely versed in these) but the least we can do is buy American.

So thanks Jefferey Immelt for thinking of America and sending you company to China. Thanks Nixon for opening trade to China, as this will bite us in the butt and do our country no good. According to the US Census, America imported, if I am reading the chart right, $329 billion worth of product. This was through October 2011. How much did we export? $89 billion. http://www.census.gov/foreign-trade/balance/c5700.html This seems a little lopsided and it has been ever since we started trade with them. And we still send all of our companies to them and try to HELP their economy?? What is wrong with this picture. Let's fix our corporate taxes, fix our health care, get a president in the Presidency who loves the United States and will do what ever he can to fix it and not what ever he can to get re-elected.
